Thankfully, there is ONE EXCEPTION to God’s supernatural separation.

One Exception for Non-Separation

In the wide expanse of an ever-increasing universe, there is one exception to the law of separation. Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. [Romans 8:38-39]

God’s Love

God’s love is unconditional, unfathomable, inexhaustible, and eternal. We can’t earn it, can’t understand it, can’t terminate it, and can’t outlast it. Nor can we outrun it. Even for those who reject Christ as Savior and Lord, God’s love remains. It breaks His heart for anyone to end up in hell because He is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” [2 Peter 3:9].

God loves because it is who He is—love is part of His essence. He is not just loving, He is love [1 John 4:8]. Without Him, there is no love, no romantic relationship, no friendship, no affection, no parental love, nothing. Only by His love do we have all these loving interactions. This makes the tragedy of hell all the worse. For all eternity, unbelievers will recall such wonderful love, yet regret scorning its Source.

Those who accept, follow, and obey Him can gladly proclaim, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” [1 John 3:1]. What a blessed hope! Not only can we enjoy His inseparable love, but we will forever bask in His glorious presence!

What a Day That Will Be!

Yes, separation is a reality in this world—both for the good as well as the bad, both voluntary and involuntary. But for all the infinity of eternity, believers will be forever united with The One who created them, died for them, loves them, intercedes for them, and wants to spend eternity with them. Hallelujah! What a Savior!

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.[1]

Supernaturally separated to God, with believing family and friends, with everything lovely. Yes, indeed—what an incredible eternity that is going to be! I pray I’ll see you then and there.
